Introduction
Welcome to being warmbloods, a breeding programme brought to you by Mother & Daughter
team Jilly & Polly Hodges.
Between them they have the combined knowledge & feel for what is required in order
to breed and train a future dressage star.
We have a selection of top quality German bred mares, chosen for not only their
conformation and movement and most importantly, their temperaments.
Breeding Programme
Their Breeding programme began with the use of the beautiful stallion Negretto –
a Dutch stallion by Negro, on the path to great success under the expert hands of
Carl Hester.
The business took a large set back after the tragedy of the death of Negretto in
a freak accident where he had to be destroyed.
We had to be grateful for the fact that we had several of his progeny on the way,
they were all delivered safely and of the highest quality/standard. His line will
be continued in our future programme as we will use his daughters to breed with
our new and exciting german stallion “Bling”.
Bling is a three year old Pure bred Hanovarian by the Grand Prix stallion Breitling W
out of a stunning Florestan Mare
We have great ambition for this horse who has fantastic conformation, amazing ability,
huge prescence, trainability and looks to match!
Alongside our breeding programme we offer a small selection of hand picked quality
dressage horses from Germany. These horses are all in continued training to benefit
and further their careers under the expert tuition of Polly and Phil.
The Being Warmbloods team

Polly was a Young Rider who competed many times for her country right through to
Grand Prix level. Throughout her time in the sport has trained with Michel Assouline,
Jennie Loriston-Clarke, Henk Van Bergen, and currently with Carl Hester. After
competing in the eye opening world of under 21's dressage, Polly took a break from
the sport to study. She has returned with a much more mature approach to the sport.
We have recently welcomed Phil Wells to Being Warmbloods. Phil has trained with
and ridden for Assouline Dressage for four years, during his time there had great
experience managing and running a large professional dressage yard. Training with
Michel he gained the experience in producing young horses from Novice right through
to Grand Prix. International travel was a fundamental part of his role, turning
out to the highest standard. And also being highly qualified in all areas of horsemanship,
holding a BHSII qualification.
Polly and Phil first met and formed an invaluable working relationship together
on discovery of Polly's first international Grand Prix horse 'Enfant' who was in
training with Assouline Dressage. Together they have a passion for training dressage
horses with the enjoyment, progression and ultimately success of the horse being
their top priority.
